Active Life Club (ALC) established in 1999, empowering young people through sports. Outstanding efforts in promoting equity in sports for disadvantaged groups. ALC has been a trailblazer, breaking barriers and fostering a spirit of inclusivity within the sporting community.
ALC has successfully transformed the lives of thousands through multi sports, led to remarkable achievements. One remarkable initiative within ALC is the young Female Volunteer Empowerment Project through sports, challenges stereotypes and dispels myths surrounding minority ethnic female as sports coaches. It has inspired numerous to pursue non-traditional careers in sports coaching, showcasing the potential for growth and success in this domain. Transitioning career in sports coaching, recently one received an outstanding young leader award.
ALC embodies cultural intelligence and community trust, providing a supportive environment where young female staff in leadership roles serve as inspiring role models. Their influence has encouraged young girls to volunteer, developing transferable skills, enabling them to actively contribute to society and pursue their personal goals.
The vision of an inclusive sporting community is progressively reducing racial/gender inequalities. Past year alone, recruited 45 volunteers, 95% of whom were young female sporting champions, contributing an astounding 1701 hours of service, with an impressive 83% retention rate. Volunteers served 958 individuals through various sports activities and training sessions.
Creation of a youth & parent forums where they play an equal part in delivery, further reinforces the commitment to gender inclusion. Collaborations with various universities to equip them to challenge inequalities, becoming mentors and changing lives.
