Red Team Blog

Day 1: Hi everyone – Welcome to the Red team.  We have had an amazing start to this camp 2023!  

We arrived and the weather looked like it was going to rain, but then the sun came out and once we seen our rooms and got settled in the action quickly started.  

First thing was a trio of onsite activities to get the team in the sporting spirit – cycling was really fun, then time to find our way round the camp with orienteering followed by some bushcraft to finish the afternoon off.  Things didn’t stop there as we headed off to Loch Insh.  The weather stayed nice and as the early evening arrived we were on the water followed by archery and a lovely meal socialising with our new team mates.

I think we are going to be exhausted tonight and will sleep well with all this fresh air!  

Day 2: Well another day and another great experience!  The red team worked together and supported each other through the day on a long hike from Badaguish all the way round Loch Morlich and back again.  Every team member were there for each other helping chairs over all the bumps, supporting our team members who felt tired, and having great chats and games all along the way.  

The day went onto a great dinner made by our chef Andy of burgers, kebabs, sausages and salad.  Then well deserved chill time where all the teams came together and caught up with singing, playing games and music, exploring and catching up.  We have made so many friends and having such a great time.  

Day 3: Well the final day arrived, and a bit emotional.  We said goodbye to our friends, and to Mark who has organised this camp for 10 years.  Surely he can’t be that old!  But he passed on the baton so next year will be just as exciting.  

Last day was very busy, and we were all tired from the day before.  Packing, emptying lodges, playing games and another enjoyable lunch where there was so much on offer.  But most of all we said goodbye to our new friends and hello to our families.  Lots of smiles, hugs and tales of our adventures on the way home.

Congratulations to Lucy from the red team, a very deserving winner of the team mascot.  

Now lets count the days to Camp 2024….
