Green Team

Hi, my name is Jock the Crock! I came over on holiday from a lovely sunny climate 3 years ago to a place called Badaguish.  I met some cool campers who really looked after me for 3 days so I decided to stay in Scotland.  I found a new home during COVID in a place called The SDS Cupboard.  Lovely people from SDS visited me occasionally giving me food and even tidied my new home and I was very excited to hear that they were inviting me to go to Badaquish once again. None of the other mascots from my last time have managed to return but I am excited to make new friends.  As you can see I have already made myself at home!  

Well what an exciting and busy day.  All my friends have had a great time orienteering, creating bush fires where we were all toasting marshmallows over the fire.  For a hungry crocodile dinner was great and I had the chorizo, chicken and potato tray bake followed by some cake.  We were all hungry from the busy day and all that fresh air.  With the excitement though, some of the other teams have been up to mischief and they have kidnapped me.  So I am now in hiding.  Wonder if the team will find me tomorrow.  

Well what an exciting finish day 2.  It has been a busy day so I have managed to update the blog and let you know what is happening.  I was too busy having fun and didn’t get much signal as the day began with a lovely trip round Loch Morlach where the weather was perfect – not too hot and not too cold.  Although everyone made sure I had my sun tan lotion topped up to keep my skin nice and green and not red!  

Our campers were great fun, we sang a song and filmed it, made hats out of natural things found in the woods and walked for miles.  My new friends were amazing as they were full of energy and managed to get round the whole trek, but I was completely deflated by the end of it.  Thank goodness my friend Craig who helped carry me all the way back and looked after me until we got home.  My new little green mascot friend was well looked after and managed to get some cool modelling in shots in the grass.  Looking forward to the day tomorrow…

What an end to a great adventure.  The final day has passed and guess what – the green team won!  Again!  I must be their lucky mascot after all as I helped them to winning back in 2019 before I had to stay the The Cupboard for a few years.  Wonder if I will be patched up and invited back.  

The last day is always emotional as we had to say goodbye to not only the winning team, but all our friends from the other teams.  We have sang together, played together, ate together and we were all very well behaved.  Including me – except that time I tried to attack one of the staff team – oops.  That must have been a hungry day for me.  

I will miss my new friends I made at camp, they were such lovely, fun and adventurous people.  I hope we meet again soon and I can hear about how they continue their adventures after camp ended.
