Blue Team

Hi everyone my name is Bruce and I have another blue mascot friend with me!  Some people find me quite frightening and scary which I think is due to a silly film called Jaws.  That is why I jumped at the chance to come to Badaguish when Scottish Disability Sport asked me.  I wanted to show my softer side and how I could be fun too.  Since I have arrived I have made lots of friends who since lunchtime today have taken me on lots of adventures.  This is my new friend Kai and he is making sure everyone in this blue team are looking after me well.  If they do they can win lots of points for a team trophy, however the other teams are sneaky and they sometimes do silly things.  I heard they deflated Fiona the Flamingo, so I have my fins at the ready and keep my eyes peeled!  

The afternoon has been really exciting.  My new friends are having fun and so far I have watched them cycling, building bush fires and orienteering.  During the orienteering the amazing staff took me along and let me take part with our other blue mascot.  The teams have been up to fun shenanigans and in order to score points they have been playing games with the other mascots.  I have to make sure I stay safe, but I have been hidden already so hopefully my team find me! 

We are back – sorry we have been out of touch but the wifi has been down.  My friends at Scottish Disability Sport have searched this evening to find some signal to bring you all my news.  I did happen to go missing yesterday as another team were very mischievous and hid me to play a trick on the blue team, however it has left me a bit deflated as you can see.  

Today my team took me on a hike round Loch Morlach and I have added some photos below for some of the challenges we undertook during the day.  One was to make a music video, make a flag of a commonwealth country and a hat made of things from nature.  Thankfully as I was rather deflated at that point they didn’t let me go swimming in the Loch as it was a little unsafe!  They did let me swim earlier as you will see from the photos below..  

Looking forward to tomorrow where we will be doing some highland games tasks and find out who won the trophy!  I hope it isn’t one of the teams that deflated me as they were really sneaky and they also hid my wee friend moo moo the little blue mascot.

Well its the last day and the sun has came out.  I have had an amazing time, and the sun is shining.  My friend Moo Moo was stolen by another camp mate yesterday and we have a picture here that proves what colour of team stole him, hopefully my friends will spot him running about camp today.  Before everyone goes home to their own family we are going to have some fun and games in teams to try to earn more points.  I have seen some highland games style fun being set up so really looking forward to it.  Hopefully I don’t deflate before the end this time!

What a few days!  Moo moo was found, I was inflated again and we had the most amazing morning.  The sun shone and after packing up and saying goodbye to our accommodation we made our way to the final venue for some fun and highand games.  Curling, tyre flipping, den building – it was another busy time.  After lunch we had some free time to say goodbye to our new friends, and then the big presentation of the winning team.  The green team won – and I found out they were the sneaky team who stole Moo Moo.  So they better watch out if I am invited back next year as I have a friend called Jaws and he will teach me a few tricks.  I am sad saying goodbye to everyone who looked after me but happy they are leaving with lots of stories to tell and I hope I see them somewhere again soon.
