Wednesday 25th April saw the provision of a Classification and Disability Sport workshop at Ninewells Hospital.
The workshop took place in partnership between Scottish Disability Sport and NHS Tayside’s Improvement Academy with the aim of providing NHS Tayside staff with more information about the pathways and classifications utilised at the Scottish and Paralympic levels. The course was tutored by Richard Brickley MBE who served as Chief Athletics Classifier for the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games.
Jennifer Scally, Regional Manager for Tayside, commented: “Having more information regarding classification systems within disability sport supports staff to empower individuals with a disability to take part in sports that they can thrive in. Scottish Disability Sport are grateful to NHS Tayside’s Improvement Academy for their partnership in delivering this course.”
