Scottish Boccia is pleased re-launch our Girls in Boccia programme which is designed specifically to encourage women and girls into the sport.
Boccia within Scotland has been growing considerably over the past few years, however, there is a shortage of female participants at all levels of the game. In fact, there are almost double the number of male players across all age groups.
Our Girls in Boccia programme aims to raise awareness of the sport for women and girls across Scotland and encourage and support more players to get involved. There are lots of opportunities to play boccia locally, allowing players to train and compete, and Scottish Disability Sport (and our club network) will assist players to do so.
Want to represent your country?
There are significant changes internationally with more female events being added to the calendar, including additional medal events at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Therefore, if you have aspirations of competing at the highest level, now is an ideal time to get involved!
What Scottish Disability Sport will offer?
- Support to set up individual or group sessions
- Individual support into a local club or session
- Provide boccia sets for those wanting to play or train within their own environment
- Advise on and provide specific equipment
- Access to competitions
For more information on how you can get involved in boccia please contact Scottish Disability Sport. We want to hear from you!
