Round One East Series Cross Country

The first in the 2018/2019 East Series of four cross country races was held on Wednesday 6th November at Pefermill in Edinburgh. 84 athletes in total took part and 41 athletes from Balwearie HS, Woodmill HS, Lochgelly HS and Bell Baxter HS represented Fife. The East Series is organised by Scottish Athletics and Scottish Disability Sport and one of the four races is held at the Beveridge Park in Kirkcaldy. Fife junior athletes finished in first place in 13 year group races.

Worthy of special mention was the 1k run by Leah Ford from Lochgelly HS who posted the fastest girls time of the day. Connor Brown Woodmill HS was the only physically disabled athlete taking part and he ran the second fastest boys 1k time of the day. Fife girls finished in the top four places in the 1k race. Well done to all the young athletes who took part and congratulations to the four schools that fielded such high numbers.
