Scottish Disability Sport (SDS) is the recognised governing body for para lawn bowls in Scotland and is tasked with selecting players that are capable of delivering medals at the highest levels of international competition, including the Home Nations Championships, IBD World Championships and the Commonwealth Games.
From the 8 to the 10 June Scotland will compete in singles, pairs, triples and four bowl formats against England and Wales at Clarence Park Bowls Club in Weston-super-Mare. This is the first international since the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and all players now have the opportunity to impress.
Commenting on the team selection, SDS Performance Manager, Gary Fraser said:
“Following the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games we have re-selected our national squad and we have included several new players. The coaches are looking forward to this test series and we are delighted to announce a strong field of players, some of whom will be making their first appearance. This presents the ideal opportunity for all players to stake their claim as we look ahead to the IBD World Championships in 2020.”
