The Sports Council for Glasgow has regularly committed funds to support national events held within the Glasgow area, including the national junior and senior swimming championships at Tollcross and the national athletics championships at Scotstoun.
The sportscotland Institute of Sport and Area Institutes of Sport have played a vital role in supporting Scotland’s leading sports people with a disability at national and international level. The partnership has contributed greatly to the success of leading Scots at World Championship and Paralympic Games.
Scottish Disability Sport’s partnership with the Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland has grown in strength since 2002, working together in the lead-up to Gold Coast 2018.
