Contract – Maternity Cover for approx. 9 months. October 2024 – July 2025

Hours – 2.5 days/week

Due to maternity leave of a current team member, the Boccia UK World Class Programme are seeking a Head of Performance Pathway to support its successful Pathway programmes.

Boccia UK was set up in 2007 and is responsible for the management, preparation and performance of British boccia athletes at major events including the Paralympic Games.  The primary role of Boccia UK is to manage the World Class Programme, with the support of UK Sport and National Lottery funding with the vision to become the world’s leading boccia nation.   We work together with Boccia England, Disability Sport NI, Disability Sport Wales and Scottish Disability Sport.

The successful candidate will be joining the team at an exciting time when the Boccia UK Team is seeking to evolve its talent and development pathways to expand eligible athletes using the momentum of the Paris 2024 Paralympics.  Reporting directly to the Boccia UK Performance Director, you will support in the creation, refinement and maintenance of a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the UK Player Pathway leading to sustained success.

The Talent Transition Programme (TTP) has now been in operation for 12 months and optimises and accelerates athletes learning and development through coaching practice.  Athletes have achieved international success at World Youth Championships, World Challengers and World Cup level.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role within the team is:

●         Working in collaboration with Home Nations, to lead, manage and implement the delivery of the UK player pathway.

●         To lead and develop the Boccia UK Talent Transition Programme.

●         To continue to promote the sport to a range of specialist impairment or occupational groups, raising awareness of the sport and a process that signposts new eligible players to the correct stage of the pathway.

We are looking for someone who is able to work on their own as well as leading and being part of a team and the ability to work effectively under pressure whilst managing a diverse workload.
