Ayrshire Sportsability held a competitive Boccia Festival on 25th October at The Citadel Leisure Centre, Ayr.
The festival was attended by over 60 pupils from schools all over Ayrshire. The event was the second competitive boccia event for ASA this year. The children had a great day and feedback from the teachers attending was excellent.
The festival date had been publicised on the schools competitive calendar through Active Schools so children had been practising boccia within their schools to enable them to come to the competition ready to take part.
The winners from the day were:
Physical Disability Group
Gold Medal: Faith Wright (Annanhill Primary School)
Silver Medal: David McLaughlin (Annanhill Primary School)
Learning Disability Group
Gold Medal: Callum Pollock (Cumnock Academy)
Silver Medal: Bobby Kerr (Cumnock Academy)
Well done to everyone who took part, and we look forward to seeing everyone at other events soon. Special thanks to Lynn Allison from SDS, Caitlin Anderson – South Ayrshire Active Schools and Ayrshire College students for all of their help.
